I think Wisconsin generally does extended hunting in areas where population control is needed as well as areas of CWD. For every person in Wisconsin there's almost half a deer. Those half deer look really silly running around and need to be shot <g>

News yesterday told us the elk population in Colorado is considerably higher than once thought. Now they're trying to decide how to reduce it. Of course, PETA is sounding off about the horrors of hunting. Not sure how this will come out. Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park is overrun with the animal.
