Nadine, it is ok to recruit for the Israeli army, right? It is ok to to fly a jet bomber, right? It is ok to engage the enemy, right? It is noble to die for flag and country, right? it is honorable to fight for freedom, right?

All those mentioned above have been indoctrinate into people young and old in Israel and in the west in particular the US. They have been taught to patriotic and to give their lives for country, yet mention nothing of the sort.

Having said that, the Palestinians are on the same page as Israel and the US, however, from opposite side. Now, if you do not like suicide bombers, than you should advocate peace, because the suicide bomber is the Palestinian version of Tomahawk missiles, Jet fighters, nuclear submarines, cluster bombs, smart bombs, etc. If you stop oppressing them and stop stealing their land, there will be no need for the Palestinians to use their weaponry which are the suicide bomber.

OTH, you, Nadine, do not want peace for the Palestinians nor the Israelis, otherwise you would have stood against AIPAC and all those war mongers.

Please Nadine, if you want amplify your enemy's deficiencies, I suggest that you look within first.

nadine ,indoctorination is part of every childs upbringing.....i grew up with gi joes and playing at killing all fascists and commies........programs like Combat and Rat Patrol were favorites among our peer group......movies of ww2 and korea were rolled out of hollywood studios.we grew up in an environment that portraied war as a neccesary evil and death for ones country as the highest glory.

can we expect anything less from others?

but the real question is how can israel combat such indoctorination......

what are the options?

an equal indoctorination of young israelies?

somehow i dont think a democracy that has the upper hand could bring itself to do such a thing.....parents would raise up in revolt at the idea of the only future for their children being one of killing or being killed.

in america we went from Combat to Hogans Heroes to Mash.....army toys are now few and far between....now it is super heroes fighting criminals and vampires and evil deamons....what does that mean i have to wonder.( perhaps a sense of helplessness and the idea that justice and protection can no longer be provided by society)

but perhaps more to the point, the whole concept of being jewish would have to change beyond recognition...perhaps israelies would become no different than their enemies.

as i have said earlier there is all the makings of an epic tragedy for jews here.

it has been suggested that the catholic church lost its soul with the foundation of a temporal state and bueracracy...the papacy and its subjegation of all bishoprics and extention of its authority cast out consideration and worship of god as the highest objective.

this is just an observation and food for thought

Scary indeed. Thank you for the links. Its frightening to see what the combination of religious fundamentalism and desperation can produce in the human psyche. The only other comparison I can think of to this is the Kamakazi attacks in WWII.
