HA - would be a great experiment.

Based on the demographics of our Meth problem, it would decimate our Polynesians.

Failing that I think picking one US state that is geographically isolated from the rest - HA - would be a great experiment.

Not a bad idea. IMO we might be better off removing prohibition in stages starting with pot, implementing a full program on it across the country, including dispensing and growing. I'm amazed that the democrats haven't jumped on this because of the prospective tax revenues. I'd think that would be enough to make the Dems giddy....

One thing is positive, we've tried the drug wars which has been a huge failure basically turning S. and Central America into one big narco state. Common sense dictates that we try something new.

Hawaii is not a closed system. I was under the impression that alcohol prohibition was a great experiment (failed), or conversely that the repeal of alcohol prohibition was a great experiment. Did alcoholism disappear either way? Nope. Most of these drugs were legal and unregulated for eons. Did they cause problems? Sure. Compared to what is going on today? Not even close.
