That it is used as an excuse not to make concessions is obfuscation. in any case ...he just talks about only radicals islam not accepting. moderate islam might accept ... every attempt must be made to prevent the moderates from being drowned out by the radicals..JMHO

Thanks for the link.....interesting. Here's my take FWIW. 1. Using the Gaza pullout as a litmus test for what would happen if Israel were to pullout of ALL the occupied territories under a fully negotiated and properly organized transition is not valid. Thinking that Gaza would all of a sudden transform from a poverty stricken, slum filled ghetto into the following..... "The Palestinians would take over Israeli greenhouses and export cherry tomatoes to the European Union. They would pump gas from lucrative off-shore gas fields being developed by British Gas to bring in huge revenues to the Palestinian people." is pure fantasy. Do you think that if this miraculously happened that Israel would simply UNOCCUPY the WB?!? 2. With regards UN resolution 242....he states "Resolution 242 (November 1967), which did not demand a complete Israeli pullback." Here is a link to the resolution.... daccessdds.un.org 1. Affirms that the fulfillment of Charter principles requires the establishment of a just and lasting peace in the Middle East which should include the application of both the following principles: (i) Withdrawal of Israeli armed forces from territories occupied in the recent conflict; (ii)Termination of all claims or states of belligerency and respect for and acknowledgement of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of every State in the area and their right to live in peace within secure and recognized boundaries free from threats or acts of force; 2. Affirms further the necessity (a) For guaranteeing freedom of navigation through international waterways in the area; (b) For achieving a just settlement of the refugee problem; (c) For guaranteeing the territorial inviolability and political independence of every State in the area, through measures including the establishment of demilitarized zones; Looks like a demand for complete Israeli pullback to me? Am I missing something here? 3. He state..."Pushing Israel back to the pre-1967 lines will not satisfy al Qaeda, nor will it bring peace..." Nothing short of seeing the demise of the west will satisfy al Qaeda......no startling revelation there. Why heck, lets just never try any negotiating if that's the case! Radical groups will always exist. With a well structured, heavily financed and closely monitored fully agreed transition process, a much greater possibility exists for success. BTW, I also checked out some other articles on the website you linked and saw titles like..... "Little Mosque on the Prairie" "Sorry Mohammed, you'll have to get your milk from a bowl from now on" "Muslim women revirginize" "Lebanon, happy days are here again" Very objective stuff! Some really cute girls on the "shmooze her or lose her" section though......
