Nadine i disagree with you and have said why. "saying the left has no understanding of religious motivation assumes the left are all aethists,or agnostics at best and have no insight into religious sentiment. one can be a christian fundamentalist and still have no idea of what it is to be a martyr. Bush is born again and look where his foreign policy has led us. Its not religion or politicle position that gives a person awareness and understanding. to think so is plain bigotry. bottom line ,Nadine, once again you are making generalization on a subject you have given little or no thought to. understanding motivation implys empathy Empathy (from the Greek eµp??e?a, "physical affection, partiality") is commonly defined as one's ability to recognize, perceive and feel directly the emotion of another. As the states of mind, beliefs, and desires of others are intertwined with their emotions, one with empathy for another may often be able to more effectively define another's mode of thought and mood.
