i'm not sure how you got that number but there is no way "calculation assumes no resistance in the wire" when anything awg is assumed. the only reason there is any calculation is resistance of the wire.
i used the calculator at the end of the page for "copper, 4ooo awg, 240 1/phase, 10 feet one way, 2KA" and the results are 2.015V drop at 211600 circular mills or 0.1662 inch square at less than 1% voltage drop.

1 Kwh = 3,412 BTUs

The article says 52KwHR is needed to travel 500 miles ...single charge.

52KWHR x 3412BTU's =177,424BTU's
So for a gallon and a half of gasoloine you can go 500 miles...LOL

Why bother with silly premiss of charging 52KWHR in 5 minutes ...eestors own silly figures you can go 500 miles on a gallon and a half of gasoline...333 miles to the gallon...BS
