NZ destiny is food production. Globalization is allocating to each country it's destiny. It deals away with the distortions of the past 3 decades. Those distortions are the ones that caused finance to become an industry per se and not simply an accessory of the real economy.

Finance rides on real economy and not vice versa.

New Zealand exports butter, milk, leather, fur, chemicals, wood powder and animal feed to Vietnam and imports footwear, home decorations, porcelain, garments and textiles and cashew nuts from the Southeast Asian partner.

Thsi is how it should be.

But before it was: Oh my God! we need some high tech appendage to our economies not to be seen as a rural economy.
