So do you think iran is a strawman? Is what they are doing defensive or offensive? They're doing both. Look, Bush made his intentions clear with his "axis of evil" speech. If I were Iran, I would be helping out my allies in Iraq too. Especially if my allies were part of the majority in Iraq, which they happen to be. We have played into Iran's hands from the beginning by knocking off Saddam in the way we did it, especially after they helped us in Afghanistan. We have almost guaranteed that Iran will be the major regional power in the mideast. Whether that Iran will be friendly toward the US or not--that is the bigger question.
