koan, I got to thinking again about how you play the markets like poker, emphasizing tactics, quickly exploiting advantages, reading the other players, instinctively changing tacks in a moment.

OTOH I play the markets like I play chess, with an emphasis on strategical analysis over tactics, trying to gradually build up a strong position by nurturing small advantages garnered through rigorous in depth analysis of all possibilities, and then at the right moment converting those positional advantages into a win through the use of tactics, i.e. buying and selling. (As with chess, where the end game is my weakest part of my arsenal, the last bit is the hardest for me, esp. selling.)

Then there are the wise old Go masters like jackjc and marcos, operating on a plane the rest of us are only dimly aware of...

I hope we both win!
