Yes! If the government is pursuing a fiscally irresponsible, unsustainable course, the Fed should speak up in no uncertain terms and continue at the cost of their job. That's why the Fed is supposedly INDEPENDENT of the executive.

I agree with Chris. The FOMC's 50 basis cut was purely political.....to keep the US out of recession next year for the elections. The cut so shocked the non equity markets, they are still trying to recover.
