The last time I went to the movies was to see "The Godfather" when it hit the drive-ins.

We must share the same tendencies. I love movies, but the last time I showed up in a theater was to see "Patton" in 1970.

You know, I have never seen "The Godfather." I've heard it was a good movie, but I have a problem with movies that glorify criminals or paint them as just family men with a criminal profession. To me, they are just bad guys. I don't want to see their human side shown in a favorable light.

One exception was "The Road to Perdition," which featured Tom Hanks and Paul Newman. It is one of my favorites, possibly because it depicted the main character turning on his criminal associates and giving them a measure of justice. One thing I like about it is that the gunfire was shot in such a way that you couldn't see clearly what was going on but there was no doubt in your mind that it was happening. Tommyguns flashing in the dark, and so forth. I own this movie and watch it periodically.
