"tell me exactly what Bill Clinton did to create and sustain the prosperity of the 90's."

I thought you agreed with Allen Greenspan? Clinton kept a "laser like focus on reducing the deficit"! It surprised Greenspan. Clinton vetoed pork laden bills until the pork was GONE. Remember when Newt "shut down the government" because Clinton had vetoed pork laden appropriations?

Business RESPONDED to Clinton's unprecedented sanity. It seemed like a NEW ERA in government!

When has the chimp done ANHYTHING like that?

re: So why don't you do what no other liberal has done and tell me exactly what Bill Clinton did to create and sustain the prosperity of the 90's.

I can't give him complete credit but he did some good stuff...

Balanced the budget
Reformed welfare
Refrained from "big" wars
Cut military spending
Invested in education
Pulled in really capable people like Robert Rubin
Reformed FEMA with good people
Listened to Greenspan

Essentially, he was just a good administrator.

What did Bush do to create the wonderful '00's?

Clinton gave us the best economy since 1960. He did it by not only balancing budgets and spending as we go, but growing jobs and surpluses, thereby solving our government's fiscal problems. The markets loved that. Then Bush came in and tore it all down. Just like Reagan tore down Carter's huge clean fuels programs.

Why? Corruption, greedy by the top 1% and noxious special interests Bush and Reagan were beholden to.

Bush's economy like Reagan's is a 3-4 year party followed by 10 years of cleaning up the mess and paying off the party tab. We have not yet begun to pay off the tab because Bushies are hiding the true size of the debts. They are, according to USA Today, about 500% bigger than Bushies are admitting. We are now headed into very troubled waters economically. The party is over.

...what no other liberal has done and tell me exactly what Bill Clinton did to create and sustain the prosperity of the 90's.

Fiscal responsibility....he didn't run a fantasy government that wins hearts and minds of selfish Americans by selling the notion that you can run a government in a perennial state of deficit...even if that meant unpopular choices like raising taxes.
