Not possible except for the very rich. It cost $500 million or more to run a decent presidential campaign. And a fair percentage of that to make your way through the primaries. If you see how much effort the candidates have to go through to raise money for a primary, doing even more for a campaign is impossible.

I agree. Parties are bad for this country. They're no better than L.A. street gangs. Every candidate should be an Independent and run on the issues. That would be good for this country.
