True, a minor selloff had started under the previous administration, but the very questionable election and resurrecting some policies that didn't work for Reagan certainly made it much worse. Only 9/11 and starting a housing bubble saved Bush from a huge disaster. You can say it had nothing to do with a proposed, idiotic tax cut for the rich in the midst of too much money already sloshing around?
