He stupidly pandered to the racists with the holocaust denial garbage. I dont think he believes that for a minute or his background and lack of formal education along with hatred of israel led him down this path. Why on earth should you think he doesn't believe it? Of course he believes it. Most of the Muslim world believes it. Abu Mazen wrote his PhD thesis denying the Holocaust. It fits so well into the Arab/Persian paranoid belief system: Israel doesn't deserve to exist, because Arab land was taken away and given to the Jews through a conspiracy on account of the supposed Holocaust (the fact that there were 650,000 Jews in Palestine before 1948 is denied or forgotten). But how to explain how so many Jews got killed when there is such a powerful Jewish conspiracy? Simple! They didn't REALLY get killed, it's all an example of the big lie technique that the Jews used to get their way. Thus Ahmedinijad routinely refers to it as the "Holocaust Myth."
