I've looked at the products for Amazon Unbox a few times. The online store doesn't make any sense to me whatsoever. The user interface is total garbage.

Everyone should make a point of making sure all of their music is saved inmp3 format so they can move it around. I'm really glad my WMP songs were saved in mp3 format so I could download them to iTunes and into my new iPod. Now, if I could find something to hook up my iPod to my car stereo, I would be able to use it for something really helpful.

I just couldn't keep up with changing the 6 disc cd's in my car all the time. Sad to say, I'm just using my car fm these days. Hopefully, Apple with do soemthing with VW and other car companies to deliver the iCar that was being discussed a few weeks ago.

If there's not port on your stereo, you've got a few options without much hassle. If your stereo is old enough to have a cassette player, you can get one of these:

meritline.com

Otherwise, an FM transmitter works too:

meritline.com

It doesn't give you controls and you can't hide the iPod in your glove compartment. With those, you've got to retrofit route:
crutchfield.com
Depending on your car, the available functions and costs is probably not worth it, but you might get lucky.

Keith -

I was just at a VW dealership, having my Passat serviced. While I was there I took a look at the new Passat. Very sweet. I got a quote on a loaded car, with the Dynaudio sound system. It sounds incredible. FAR better than any BOSE system could ever hope to be. I asked the guy if the iPod connector was available for it. He said it was already in there. They've had those for at least a couple of years now.

Of course, I already have an iPod connector on my Alpine system in the old Passat. And I'm not talking about just a port to plug in from the headphone jack. My system uses the dock connector. The iPod sits in the glove box, and I control it using the Alpine front end. The official VW iPod adapter works the same way.
