They might not have it exactly right NOW, but they will. This is not good news for Apple investors and I don't see that Apple is positioned well to combat Amazon's assault.<<

I think that as long as Apple continues to innovate on the hardware side, Amazon's entry into this market only helps them. They make the money on razors, not the blades.

As far as I can tell, the only advantages Amazon has over Apple at this time are 1) a DRM-free Universal catalog (not sure if this is the ENTIRE catalog or only selected tracks) and 2) lower prices for DRM-free tracks ($0.89-0.99 vs. Apple's $1.29). It's no problem for Apple to compete on price should it decide to do so. IMHO, the only fly in the ointment is a recalcitrant Universal. Thus, I don't see Amazon's music download service as much of a threat for now.
