Even if Clinton were a better president than Bush its irrelevant to point.

Its relevant when you are making a comparison between the two men like Greenspan did recently.

Whether Krugman likes or dislikes Bush is irrelevant. He is not altering the facts. The facts speak for themselves.

and this makes most of his current writing only useful for partisans who want to reinforce the views they already have, and don't care about what distortions get used in the effort.

If people like Krugman were being purely partisan, the polling of the American public would show different numbers in categories like: "are you better off this year than last", or "do you think the economy is going in the right direction". For the last few years, those numbers have been consistently negative. I am afraid, Tim, you have what's called the beltway mentality. YOU try to make everything partisan and you think you know what people out here are thinking. I am afraid you are wrong.
