CJ, I don't have the issue in front of me, but I do remember reading about him keeping his cool (even when the towers started collapsing), setting up a mobile command center, and coordinating just about every single agency available to him from fire to rescue to even press relations.

Stuff that we took for granted until Hurricane Katrina.

You might tell yourself that that's what our elected officials are supposed to do, but to me, his actions immediately following 9/11 are a reflection of how well he did his job in the eight years prior.

And that's a lot more than your asinine comment would suggest. "Other than being the mayor of NYC at the time, what exactly did Rudy do? Other than lie to the workers doing the cleanup, I mean."
