Was at Home depot today. Normally there are at least a half dozen contractor trucks in the pickup area on any given weekday. Today there were none so I just parked in the loading zone and no one cared. Empty parking lot, no contractors, and what few customers they had were making minor purchases.

Now that I am thinking about it, was at WalMart the other evening and that place was empty too. The SOB's have the Christmas stuff out already. Talk about desperation! I could overhear people complaining to each other about it.

These stores have got to be operating in the red right now.

The restaurants have been pretty empty lately as well. We have only had to wait for a table once in the last month, at On The Border on a Friday evening. We normally have to wait at least once or twice every week at some restaurant.
