First, go back and reread fpg Message 23942131

HP -- once HP got to about 30% AMD, Intel's first dollar rebates became ineffective. This is true of any OEM. If you don't read fpg's post you can't understand why. Intel could still play the same game with market segments that don't have significant AMD penetration, e.g., quad-core CPUs.

DELL -- I think it was Intel who dropped the loyalty rebate first.

It was as easy as hitting the red Easy button from Staples.

Opteron was first 64-bit server processor and first dual core server processor, but it still took another year before DELL pushed that "easy" button. LOL.

Of course, any excuse to avoid comprehension.

What happened after the lawsuit was filed, and under its cover, is irrelevant. Do you know that Intel didn't change it's terms to HP and/or Dell? Murderers don't become innocent just because they stop murdering.

You've come surprisingly far. When i read over fpgs posting i thought he should have left out decimal points and leave it with one step per post to talk you through this. ;-)
