Here's an example of the valuation in CA. I just picked an address out of the air in Glendale, CA, which is a bedroom community north of downtown L.A. This is from zillow.com:

722 Raleigh St GLENDALE CA 91205
8 beds, 3.0 baths, 3,446 sq ft;

Recently Sold: $900,000
