Then there is this example from the local rag:

Then there is this:Gustavo Astorga Carrillo,
22, Kailua-Kona, was arrested
in the Kona District and
charged with third-degree promotion
of a detrimental drug,
driving without an operators
license, failure to have no-fault
insurance, failure to have an
inspection certificate and failure
to have two license plates.
He was released on his own
recognizance.

With todays article saying there may be 38,000,000 illegals in the US folks are getting a bit sick and tired of illegals getting benefits w/o any of the hassles of being a citizen. In the police log i picked this out of all thgose with non-hispanic names had at least a $250 bail. How hard would it be to call immigration and send this dude back home? In the past year I've had one illegal scrape the side of my truck(over 2k damage) and Saturday one almost caused a major pile up by driving 25 mph across the oncoming lane and onto the opposite shoulder on a blind curve into oncoming traffic just so he didn't have to slow down. If myself and several others hadn't come to a screeching halt there would have been a minimum 4 car pile up.

There you go again, as Reagan said to Carter after George Will stole Carter's notes and gave them to Reagan in advance of a "debate."

There you go again, making sense. Can't anything knock some nonsense into your head?

KT,

I'm going to have to start including you in the delusional column. ;-)

Seriously, if you can't see that there were legitimate reasons to debate whether or not to go into Iraq, you almost have to be delusional or not understand risk and probabilities. Now granted, a very rational and informed person could easily conclud we shouldn't have gone in (I was 50-50), but to not see that it was a very difficult decision screams a problem in the analysis and understanding.

I don't know much about the Schip program, but I can guarantee several things without knowing a thing.

1. The actual cost will be dramatically higher than the current official estimates.

2. After about a decade (probably less) it will managed horribly and there will be little or no way to change things for the better because of jobs and dependency.

3. It's highly likely that democrats are trying to include people that can afford to buy private insurance for their children because they want to maximize the number of people that will vote for them in the future when it becomes apparent it's another government debacle and rational people try to cut it.
