People can vote NO for different reasons; I'd rather see the quote you were referring to so I can put it in context. I didn't watch the debate, but I do have an interest in Social Security Insurance because of all the misinformation being put out - mostly by the right.

I'm not sure what Ron Paul said, but I'd agree there is a clear difference between putting deposits in an FDIC insured account and private accounts - as long as they are NOT individual accounts. Then there is no difference - private accounts for an insurance program is moronic.

The best idea is to address the more important issues first: the looming health care crisis, the General Fund deficit, and getting out of Iraq. Solve those three problems and we will discover SSI will be easy.
