I think the main reason we have a very large military budget is because we go to great lengths to send our fighting men into combat with the best arms and protective equipment we can come up with. Compare the cost of the uparmored Humvees with the original ones, compare the cost of the armor protecting vests our fighters wear today compared to the one I wore (my T-shirt covered with military fatigues and my govt issued bible in my breast pocket). Would you want our servicemen to have less? jdn

Nothing could be further from the truth. I believe in a strong military, where we are today is an insane military. How can you say that if we spend as much as the rest of the world combined that our military is weak? If that is the case then something is really wrong. It is the most idiotic comment and thinking of the extreme right.

Leave off the attempts at personal insults.
You are focused on cost. I am focused on results.

If our military is strong, list their accomplishments in the last 6 years of war?
