The money is plowing into the futures; all major rallies start
overnight. I agree, the treasuries are the key. 5% rates
hardly compensate for the drop of USDX from 87 to 78 in 1
year. TIC flows were horrible in August, yet the dollar did
not decline all that much back then.

No matter how easy it would seem to prop the stock market (via buying 15 DOW stocks), the stock market cannot handle a yield spike in the bond market. What I don't understand is how the long end has held up so good these last few weeks.
