<<The crimes, the lies that have been perpetrated here and by the US - they are exposed and available for you and me to see, to discuss freely, and to more fully understand. The depravity of other countries is hidden by state controlled press, by opacity and "blackouts" in government. We selectively know more about our failings. And so, what you and I do not see can not repulse us, is not even a topic of discussion. We are left with our favorite example of misconduct, the U.S., which undoubtedly has made many mistakes in its past and will make many more. With any luck they will be chewed up, spit out, and recycled into a new path.>>

Astute observations in your post Sir zamboni driver.Americans took their big man down before his term expired, a shining example to the world.Lou Dobbs has relentlessly been on the attack, of late,of his own government..Lou remains in his chair uranium free.

Often exposed and available only when they do not matter any more...

True. But that depravity is selectively highlighted, exaggerated, or hidden by the US media, as it suits a geopolitical objective of United States.

i believe at all levels china does not believe it can effectively influence any other nation in any permanent way as long as a substantial number of locals do not wish to be influenced, and so chinese not keen on intervention in most cases unless a dire national imperative calls for intervention

when china did intervene, it did so invariably in a big and committed way over as-long-as-it-takes elapsed time, until immediate objectives reached, even if such undertaking requires 55 years, in the case of n.korea, and 35+ years in the matter of indo-china, and then stop, and stop fast

intervention is against nature, only to be used in response to other intervention

intervention generally brings on the worst of all unintended possible consequences, whether immediately or at a later date

for the usa, 9.11 can be traced directly to past interventions, same for saddam, same for iran, etc etc etc, and soon enough we will most assuredly see the down side of intervening in pakistan, the worst of all possible consequences can already be guessed at, and is most definitely still to happen
