I'm afraid I don't know, Don. I think it makes incremental backups and there might be some compression involved, but it wouldn't be anything that would degrade your data -- just speculating here. What attracts me is that it allows you to find a lost file visually and restore it with one click of the mouse, which is a far easier approach than the other backup programs I've used.

Another thing I like about Leopard (again based on Apple's video) is the feature in Mail that recognizes data types like addresses and dates, and also the ability to link to iCal to create time-sensitive reminders.
