That's a good point. Science is attacking God on all fronts, not just evolution/creation. There is a huge disconnect between science's godless end-of-world scenario and that of many major religions. To say you are worried about the world ending in global warming is to say you disbelieve the Bible/Quran and to slap the faces of all who believe those religions. Of course, some (like Huckabee) point to Scripture saying Christians must be good caretakers of the Earth, getting around any conflicts between endtime possibilities. That may be the solution to this problem.
