It is a verse from the Koran, a tiny part of four entire chapters he has learnt by heart since arriving at the madrassa, or religious school, two years ago The thing that really gets me about this education is that little Imran does not speak Arabic and the madrassa does not teach Arabic. He is reciting in a language he does not know. Now maybe the students can figure it out as they go along, but I have seen no evidence that the madrassas even teach any kind of textual commentary or exegesis, just rote memorization.
