I think that country is about ready to implode. And they already ARE a nuclear power. I could see the govt. pulling a Shah runaway in the middle of the night.

I've been talking about Pakistan being the single most dangerous place for a long time. It's loaded with Muslim extremists and they already have a nuke.

This is a major problem with no easy solution.

It might become the test case for what happens when you allow elements hostile to the West (and the United States in particular) to gain power in that region and have access to WMDs.

We put ourselves in this position over the decades by becoming so dependent on Middle East oil. If it wasn't for that and our blind loyalty to Israel, we could pack our bags, close down the new bases in Iraq that replaced the bases in Saudi Arabia that we got thrown off of, go home, and let them all kill each other.

I predict that if the extremists take control, either Israel, India, or the United States is going to do something about those nukes and it ain't going to be pretty.
