I do believe that many elements of user interface design can be "wrong" if they make a system more difficult to use.

However, things like rounded corners at the bottom of pull-down menus, which the reviewer highlights, are not something that affects usability. (Actually, I agree with him about that one. They are less attractive, to me, than the non-rounded corners. And since the bottoms of application windows aren't rounded, they seem inconsistent.)

If the slightly transparent menu bar made it harder to see what was going on, I'd be the first to object. But it doesn't. If the new 3D dock was harder to deal with, I'd object to that. But it isn't.

Thus, I'll stick by my assertion that some aspects of graphical user interfaces are neither wrong nor right, but instead simply matters of opinion.
