" I would like to see Wounded Knee and walk those grounds"

I did that in 1970 when I took a motor cycle across country. I had no problems, I guess they hadn't read the book yet.

I cannot go to Wounded Knee for these reasons. Frankly, I do not blame the Sioux in the least.

When I was stationed in Norfolk we tried to do some civil war and war of Independence fields and they were pretty chilling also. I mean Custer's arrogance was going to get him killed sooner or later and that was just a handful of folks compared to some of our civil war battles but Little Big Horn is quite gripping.

Irrelevant Non-History moment:

In his alternate history book "Never Call Surrender," Gingrich kills Custer off within two months of Gettysburg.
