You are right about two things: that it is people who fuels economic growth and plain natural resources don't matter. I don't dispute that.

My line of thought is that under the new set of circumstances: there are "3 main components of a solution, (money, technology and management.) Which I elaborate here.
Message 24022929

In the past you could not put the three components together and ended up as you wrote.

But today there is a new set of circumstances where the 3 components are available.

1 money? Available copiously and a plenty and free to cross borders

2 Technology? Widely available, cheap and easy to use.

3 Management? (instead of calling people) now available too.

Take the 3 components and couple them with natural resources and big internal markets and it looks like an unbeatable concept.

One tiny little thing is missing: The self confidence.

Let me explain the self confidence component:

The populations of those countries have not yet discovered their power. It is like an elephant tied to a pole by a rope. The elephant doesn’t know that it needs only to stretch the rope and it is free. To throw it s weight around.

The rope tying these population is because they are intimidated and still have deep rooted in their minds their recent past of economic grievances.

In ten years, those guys are going to start flexing their muscles and kicking the asses. Not with nuclear devices or shows of force. Just telling other to put up and shut up...
