Incredible volatility in the banking sector. Wash Mutual in freefall just printed anoither new low and yields over 12%. Bank Atlantic after dropping 80% and selling at a third of book value now up 20% in two days..

That house I mentioned in SW Fla is actually west of Tamiami Trail and has also been stripped of cabinets, appliances, A/C. I imagine only an investor with deep pockets or lines of credit buys it as it is impossible to get traditional financing for it .. I might take a stab at that one and another one next door also an REO before year end quick close no contingencies.. These tiny older homes built in the 1950's for the thrifty retirees of that day are obsolete in their present form..

Some business associates of mine actually just bought a home in that area for just $10k distressed via auction.
