maurice- the burka was quite beautiful. my friend's husband brought it back from afghanistan. it's made of a very light cotton that feels and looks quite silky and was not at all stifling. mind you, i wasn't wearing it for long time. it did make me feel somewhat in control though - i felt a sense of empowerment. very strange. not at all what i expected. perhaps its because i wore it of choice. -rose p.s. the trashy shoes were part of my costume. the burka was not. i dressed as a happy hooker <s>. it that an oxymoron?
