Yeah, you know a lot about it, don't you? The facts are that in Vietnam most infantry officers spent 6 months in combat, their men spent 12 months. Most of the time the 6 months was closer to 5 and the 12 months was closer to 10 or 11 because other assignments were secured early. So I'd say you had no friggen idea what you were talking about. And the guy who gave you the "great post" attaboy; he claims to have served in Vietnam. Maybe he did, but either he didn't serve in combat or he's too stupid to have learned a damn thing. Each of you should try to refrain from criticizing better, tougher and more heroic men. What you do just makes you look petty and jealous. Ed

Get out of the WayBack machine Jim! Was that FIFTY years ago now? That's a really long time to be carrying wood for Mary Jo, who died before a lot of people on SI were born..
