He went to school in Jakarta until approx grade 3 then to private school in Hawaii until he graduated from High School. It is perfectly understandable why he wouldn't know much about protocol. But I agree with you that there is no excuse that justifies his snub. He is running for POTUS and should have been at least tutored by his handlers. His behavior in this regard is a total turn off to most Americans. And it makes one wonder why he thinks he could be our premium representative if he can't even respect our most beloved and important symbol.

The bottom line to me is Obama has no love for America. He denies our national symbols. He publicly disrespects our flag. He refuses to connect himself to those things Americans hold dear. His behavior towards American Nationalism is a true anathema - a curse. The only thing Obama has going for himself is an ego the size of a milking barn. So far that is enough for about 40% of the Democrats. Obama is so bad, he makes Hillary look good. That makes him a double curse. Other than that, I don't like the guy.
