I have no idea on current activities in methane to gasoline. The Mobil synthetic petrol plant did that, going through a methanol intermediary step.

Incidentally, the Mobil synthetic gasoline had some excellent high octane components and it was overall high octane good stuff. So that adds value to it. I used to be in charge of the testing for quality control purposes [BP Oil had a contract with them to do the testing as part of my turning the laboratory into a profit centre instead of just a sleepy cost centre operations department].

>> Any talk lately of methane/gasoline conversion? <<

Haven't heard much about methane-to-gasoline but methane to diesel oil and naptha is moving right along. In Qatar the Oryx GTL (gas-to-liquids) plant has started up and making a slow and painful ramp-up.
