I agree.

(And, I'll go much further: the ENTIRE tax code --- individual *and* corporate --- needs to be torn out at the roots and replaced with a simpler, fairer, less-loophole-ridden, and lower rate tax system.)

In August the Census Bureau gave Americans an update on a story they already are familiar with: Their pay is stagnant.

Adjusted for inflation, median annual earnings of men and women who work full time fell in 2006, for the third year in a row. Health insurance premiums, meanwhile, (to name just one area contribution to the 'cost of living'), grew by 78 percent between 2002 and 2007, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation....
