I've heard it advertised but my home is mortgage free.. I'm self employed and did manage to get a partial break with home office etc.. I'd guess it involves borrowing the dough to invest with house as collateral ? OK I'll give it a look ..

I also investigated putting my mortgage in my RRSP but never followed through.. I ended up paying it off quite quickly as it was..

OK I see.. Honestly being disciplined and paying down my mortgage was more straight forward and riskless for me. Took me 11 years so I minimized my interest greatly. Investing (I had an advisor for a while but he was only smart during the tech bull :O) but I was not ready then to start investing on my own back then. It's a tough job which I'm only really getting the hang of now. I can proudly say I'm no longer a rank beginner.. but I won't claim much past that :O)

I can see the efficiency but if you do not make out on your investments that is a problem. Could be a good idea now if I decide to upgrade to a McMansion though :O)
