Exactly what it says. There are specific regions/islands where non-citizens can own homes/apartments, but in most of the country non-citizens cannot. It's as if foreigners could own in Manhatten, but not in the rest of New York state.

Here are some of the new developments where non-citizens can own housing. I think we can only lease the land for 100 years, or something like that.

This development seems a little off the beaten track.....25 km to the airport in a city of what less than 1 million people. That's not close.....esp when you figure foreigners will use the airport the most. Nonetheless, the development itself is first class and attractive.

Its a little scary that there is so little factual info on the real estate market there.

Most developing countries do not allow non-citizens to own land, by the way.

Its hard in some developed countries like France as well.
