What troubles you about nuke energy? If the nuclear plants had not been shut down by the envirowhackos in the '70's we'd have a number of plants online with clean electricity generation.

Done right nuclear is an important part of the puzzle. The nuclear industry is not structured correctly. Fuel rods can be reprocessed multiple times instead of being discarded as the current system does.

Why eschew all of the different sources that can make a difference? A friend of mine retold the blow by blow story of his visit to a doctor who specialized in help couple conceive when nature needed help. She proceeded to describe the changes that the couple would undergo and the percentages for each change. Some were big like they guy couldn't hot tub. Others were small like a 1 - 2% improvement in odds if he didn't wear tight pants or underwear. She was outragiously successful and had one of the highest success rates in her profession.

Generating waste with a halflife of thousands of years smacks to me of poisoning the planet. If better recycling and more renewable energy sources could cut down on the need for energy from disposable resources by 10%, that is 10% less poison in the world that was generated by mankind. I think it is vital, and not just a good idea.

As far a Global Warming, it is a fact, as id cooling. The plane goes through cycles and the sun gores through cycles. How much of the supposedly statistically significant is due to human activities?
