that 50bbl barrel is allowed in our area and many use it vs trash pick up. some warm mornings the smell would knock you over. One small bbl burning two streets over carries about ten acres here. We are in a development and perhaps 5% burn their trash in a bbl. fire code says you must burn with less than x wind.

Oh, also have two tree trimmers businesses businesses that ajoin us. They take down the big stuff and bring it back. Both were open burning all the time. Huge fires and smoke bellowing over the house. i got fire department into it. finally epa caught one burning wires etc. Fined him $1000. We got the hours of operation shut down to 8am to 5pm. he was running equipment late at night and starting up at 6am. One guy with large equipment put up big earth berms around his 5 acres and now neighbors cannot see what he is burning or burying(another concern since we are all on wells). I expect he bought off the township as no one ever inspects his property to see if he is compliance with court orders. i got him shut down for open burning. and he has a big underground steel pit of some sort that burns the trash left over after chipping all the dead tree trunks etc.

you could go out some days and not be able to breathe. the smoke or whatever was in the air would take your breath away.
