Agreed. When I wrote that it made achieving greatness easy, I meant it in the sense of personal drive, honesty, honor, integrity and having natural resources readily available made it easier than it would be without the natural resources. One of the things that made America great was not the exploitation of natural resources, but the people who took every opportunity to make a buck for themselves. A fully functioning capitalist marketplace is the best protection against tyranny.
