Yeah, it took years to get here. But the problem is that the market for our bonds is drying up as we speak.

And I am only shooting down spending cuts as the only way to approach the problem.

Which is why we only have a short period of time. Yes, spending cuts will need to be made. But that takes time.

You have a peculiar attitude. Because it took years to get into trouble, we need to only consider plans that will take years to solve the problem.

It took six. Clinton handed Bush the best transition economy since Eisenhower. If Bush had continued it and built on it, where would we be today?

I assume your talking in terms of the debt, not the deficit. The deficit isn't particularly high anymore and its dropping.
