That statement is not expressed in such a way as to be convincing to me. I still agree with what I wrote. The tribal inhabitants generally maintained a separate society and generally avoided adopting the ways of the European settlers that gave them a competitive advantage.

If you complained about them being pushed aside and not honoring their property rights you would have a stronger case. Diluting property rights through ethereal claims makes enforcing them more difficult. Even more difficult when the people objecting to the loss choose not to take the steps necessary to defend them.

Regardless, it was the pioneer spirit that created most of the wealth in America in the last few centuries.
