I looked at two beautiful books at Costco today. One was "The Civil War," and the other was a pictorial version of David McCullough's "1776."

Both were wonderful examples of the bookmaker's art.

Both were printed in China.

I think that probably means both were printed in Hong Kong, which was lately an independent capitalist entity, and under the protection of Great Britain. I'm not sure of the colonial status of Hong Kong, but it was unbridled capitalism.

Mainland China might have seen the light. I hope so. I also hope they want peaceful coexistence. If they decide to attack us we will have to unleash everything we have to defeat them.
