When that wall came down and the Soviets began withdrawing from Berlin and East Germany, it was replaced with Yankee Go Home signs.

All my friends in the Army felt very welcome in Germany. Three of them ended up with German wives. The last of them left about ten years ago. Maybe they just felt welcome from the girls.

The occupation of Germany ended after the Berlin wall came down in 1989

I was referring to the return of sovereignty to West Germany in 1955, but yeah we sat on their heads for a good many decades anyway. Better our asses on their heads than Soviet asses, you know.
