But that is a BAD, BAD thing, don't 'cha see?

It leads to FAILURE, Imperial over-reach, partisanship dividing the American public, unrestrained government and deficit growth, etc.

i don't think we were united in ww2 about the war. i believe a few posters have pointed out how the congress , nyt, etc even back then fought over going to war, staying in the war etc etc etc. perhaps that is what makes the country run. we always seem to get two sides of the story.. hopefully,

trouble today is with national journalism mostly all liberal we get very little of the conservative side on issues. the public generally are led around as sheep. vote the way their teacher org , union org or minority org tell them how to vote. that takes a big chunk out of open minded informed voters. Add to it the number of indifferent citizens that never do vote.

then we have pandering. tax the rich, do not lower income at all. give them more social programs.. hard not to vote for those folks when it doesn't cost you a dime.
